Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation (CPVDC) started its journey to sustainability when the Company, along with its mother company, Cebu Holdings, Inc. (CHI), started implementing the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), which measures the corporate and individual performance in four quadrants: financial, customer, business process, and learning and growth.
In this approach, the causal aspects – the development of people (learning and growth) and the establishment and improvement of organizational systems and processes (internal business process) to address customer requirements and achieve customer satisfaction (effect) lead to very good financial performance results (effect). This has been employed by the Company for almost a decade and has reaped very promising results.
As CPVDC moved forward, the Management realized that there are other measures of performance for the Company and the individual, besides the financial bottom line. The organization went further and embraced the Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (QEHS MS). Also known as the Integrated Management System (IMS), it is aligned, evaluated, and certified to conform to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 (on Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (on Environmental Management), and OHSAS 18001:2007 (on Occupational Health and Safety Management). With these management systems in place (BSC and QEHS MS), the Company streamlines processes, documents and implements procedures and best practices, and subjects these to regular reviews and assessments to check and improve performance.
In the third quarter of 2007, the Company, along with the CHI, successfully passed the certification audit for its QEHS MS, and subsequently passed the continued surveillance audits, done twice a year.
