Armando O. Samia

Armando O. Samia, Filipino, 58, has served as director of CPVDC from 1996 to 2010 and as a regular director since April 2010.  In July 2009, he was seconded by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) to Al-Amanah Islamic Investment Bank of the Philippines (AAIIBP). He is presently the chairman and CEO of AAIIBP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DBP. He oversees the entire operations of the Islamic Bank to help support the development of DBP’s initiatives for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in Mindanao as well as to serve as the main remittance outlet for Muslims and Mindanao-based overseas Filipino workers. He is presently a board member of the following corporations on behalf of DBP: independent director of Victorias Milling Company; regular director of DBP-Daiwa Securities, SMBC Philippines, Inc., DBP Data Center, Inc. and DBP Management Corporation.
